- Length of stay - can vary from a few days to weeks or months.
- Types of Services - Some facilities only offer safe overnight shelter, while others are temporary. They provide residential and care services. They can help you with substance abuse, mental health, domestic violence or job training.
- Apply for permanent or subsidized public housing. Typically, there are long waiting lists for public and subsidized housing. Apply as soon as possible.

COVID-19 helps to pay long-band internet bills
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Federal Communications CommissionBroadband Benefit Emergency Programis offering a temporary discount on monthly broadband Internet bills to eligible low-income households.

COVID-19 student loan tolerance
When you pay off a student loan backed by the US Department of Education, you get leniency. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, your principal and interest payments were automatically suspended after the start of 2023. The exact date when payments will resume is not yet known.
