It happened this summer ... 10./20. July to be exact. I became the father of #1 though2 teenagers. I have a 15 year old son and a 13 year old. I don't know how this happened so quickly, but here we are.

And even though they cook their own lunch most of the time, lunch is still a challenge. With that in mind, and with the help of my fellow food bloggers, I've put together a list15 healthy school lunch ideas for teens. And not only are they healthy, many of these lunches are healthier versions of dishes teens love, like tacos, pizza, fried rice, Caesar salad, and sushi. they are tooready for consumption(none need to be heated and can be eaten COLD) and many can be made ahead of time or put together in just minutes. And the best part is, they're super easy - teens can even make them themselves!
As of now, reheating lunches is not an option at my kids' schools. Not only are my kids assigned specific floors, bathrooms, and stairways this year, they no longer have access to a microwave. Unfortunately, I've always relied on frozen meals (MUCH more than I care to admit) and other teenage lunch ideas that need reheating. And for some weird reason my kids these days refuse to use a thermos. I guess it's not "cool" anymore.
Shit just got real!
So...I struggle to make sure I have lots of cold lunch ideas, trying to decide what to make for lunch that they like, that's healthy, that I can eat by myself, that doesn't need to be reheated, and that I don't take much time!! If you're in the same boat, you'll love these ready-to-eat school lunch ideas for teens.

When I remember what I ate for lunch as a teenager, I worry. Let's just say I ate more chips and salsa in the cafeteria than one person should have. However, the school canteens and canteens will probably not be open this year, I'm at least a little relieved. And thankfully, all of our kids' years of nagging seem to be paying off (meaning we've tried to teach them healthy eating habits). My teens are pretty health conscious now and love the idea of eating healthier versions of the junkie foods they love! So, without further ado… here is a collection of delicious school lunch ideas!

Younger kids can help make them and older teens can make them themselves using the easy step-by-step instructions included in the recipe!
